2007 National Drowning Report277 People Drowned in 2006-2007 Financial Year

277 people drowned in Australian waterways in the financial year ending 30 June 2007, a disturbing 5% increase on the previous year's figure. The 2007 National Drowning Report was released by Senator the Hon. George Brandis SC, Federal Minister for Arts and Sport, in Brisbane today.
